Hi Ralph, thinking back to early Music Factory and fondly remember being on the balcony looking down on the main floor which was packed and Ali closing with The Odd Company's Swing In Trance. I was laughing and loving it all at the same time.
When we got into the basement at Music Factory, Ali introduced me to some great heavy dark sounds, as you rightly say in your DJH interview. One that stays with me is MMM....Skyscraper I Love You. It's the Elvis mentions in the song that got me, what with Dave being such an Elvis fan, it seemed to be made for the club. I grew up on Elvis too!

Great to see "Espiral" in there. One of Ali Cooke's favourites as I remember.
Yes I'm glad Espiral is already in there. I'll never forget when Ali had got the record and we went to the Hacienda on a Wednesday night for In The City. He was over the moon because he was about to play it and Danny Rampling didn't have a copy yet.
Later that night Ali was playing in the Gay Traitor, I was asking him to play The Chase and he pulled out a version I've still not been able to find, that has a "Midnight Express" chant in it - anyone know it?
